TechnologyWe provide students with a foundation of skills critical for success in the 21st Century. Our students use technology in ways that promote creative thinking, thoughtful exploration, and problem solving. The tools we provide allow them to connect to and collaborate with students and teachers in our school community as well to people and resources around the world.
- Elaine Wrenn, Director of Technology
Technology is not a subject. It's an environment.
Technology is embedded throughout our curriculum at Echo Horizon School. We immerse our students in a technology rich environment where they utilize a variety of tools that support their learning. This unique and powerful perspective exemplifies why we are featured on the Apple Learning Interchange, our designation as a SMART Showcase School, and why our program attracts educators from around the world.
Students in Pre-K through 2nd grade have access to laptops and iPads in their classroom and desktops in our Technology Center. Every 3rd through 6th grader at Echo Horizon School is provided a laptop computer to use at school, and our 5th & 6th graders take theirs home. Whether they are making an iMovie to present research findings, taking scientific measurements with digital probes, sharing information globally with videoconferencing, or reporting on school events with podcasts, our students "learn by doing" every day.
