Family Program and Toy Drive with Mar Vista Family Center
The mission of Mar Vista Family Center (MVFC) is to provide low-income families with quality early-childhood education, youth enrichment, and educational tools to create positive change in their lives and their communities. Every program at MVFC adheres to the basic premise that it is critical to empower children, teens, and adults to play vital and responsible roles—as decision makers, community leaders and advocates, mentors, classroom volunteers, and fundraisers.
Echo Horizon will be partnering with MVFC on several projects connected to grade-level curriculum and community-wide engagement. To begin our partnership, we will participate in a voluntary Family Programs and Toy Drive project during the holiday season.
The Family Programs project will allow Echo Horizon families to support the needs of individual families at Mar Vista Family Center this holiday season. For more information, please contact Heather Kun andJennie Willens.
If you are interested in participating, please fill out our interest form. We will reach out to you with more information and coordination for participating in this project.
We will also participate in a Toy Drive with Mar Vista Family Center to support their Baby and Me program. They need toys and educational books for infants and toddlers. We will send out more specifics in the Tuesday Bulletin after Thanksgiving Break! These items can be dropped off at Echo Horizon between Monday, Dec 10 and Friday, Dec 14.
And coming soon . . . our community (and participants in both the Toy Drive and Family Program) will be invited to participate in a Mar Vista Family Center neighborhood clean-up event early in 2019.This will allow us to introduce ourselves and get to know the families at MVFC!

Holiday Program with One Voice LA
Every year, the One Voice Holiday Food Program provides Christmas food baskets, toys, and books to 2,500 families (12,500 people) living in poverty in the Los Angeles area. All the families are referred through the Head Start Program and meet federal- and state-mandated poverty levels.
Thursday, December 20th from 7:30PM–9:00PM is the time when kids can help out during Holiday Program weekend. Echo Horizon School invites available families to join together and meet at this wonderful community event in which parents and children will sort produce and food items into thousands of food boxes!
If you are interested in participating, please fill out the interest form. We will reach out to you with more information as the date approaches!
