Karina Patel proudly considers herself a Southern Californian, having grown up in Huntington Beach after immigrating from Zambia at the age of four. She moved to Los Angeles in 1999 to attend Loyola Marymount University, where she graduated with honors, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Karina began her entrepreneurial journey in 2001 as a founding team member of Preferred Group, a luxury concierge service. She quickly rose to the role of President and part-owner, where she helped shape the company’s operational infrastructure—establishing comprehensive policies, procedures, and service standards that fueled its success. During her 15 years in the luxury travel and hospitality industry, Karina earned a reputation for curating bespoke, high-touch experiences and consistently exceeding client expectations. She also secured partnerships with prestigious global brands, including Van Cleef & Arpels, Veuve Clicquot, and MGM Resorts International.

In 2016, Karina transitioned into the fine jewelry industry, founding Curated by K, where she continued her commitment to delivering meaningful, personalized service. Throughout this time, she balanced her entrepreneurial pursuits with motherhood, raising her daughter Leela, a proud Echo Horizon scholar, Class of 2027. Karina also served as Parent Association Co-Vice President and President from 2022 to 2024, deepening her involvement with the Echo Horizon School community.

In 2024, Karina embarked on her latest professional chapter, launching a new client service-focused venture in the Behavioral Health Services sector—channeling her passion for people into work that makes a lasting, positive impact.

Karina lives in the Beverly Grove neighborhood of Los Angeles with her husband of 16 years, Nehal, and their daughter, Leela.
