Jamie Novogrod, a Wesleyan University graduate, has spent more than two decades in broadcast journalism and the media industry, building a distinguished career across major news networks and production studios.
As Executive Producer at LA Times Studios, the entertainment division of the Los Angeles Times, Jamie led video production for a range of innovative initiatives—including virtual and live events, co-productions with emerging filmmakers, and a daily news magazine show on Spectrum News 1 SoCal. Under his leadership, the studio earned multiple LA Press Club Awards and LA News Emmy Awards.
Prior to that, Jamie served as West Coast Bureau Chief for VICE News, overseeing coverage of the western United States and Mexico. He managed a diverse team of correspondents, producers, and post-production staff, delivering impactful journalism across the region.
At NBC News, Jamie worked as a producer for Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel. He was on the ground during major global events such as the 2014 revolution in Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. His reporting also took him to Russia, Turkey, Nepal, Afghanistan, and northern Iraq. Earlier in his career, Jamie covered the 2012 U.S. presidential election as an NBC News embed and was deployed to cover major domestic stories.
His work has earned numerous accolades, including Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and an Overseas Press Club Award.
Most recently, Jamie served as Assistant News Director at NBC4 Los Angeles. He now advises several media ventures, including The Disagreement, a mission-driven startup dedicated to promoting respectful dialogue on divisive topics.
