Meg Baltazar is a dedicated educator with over 18 years of experience in the classroom and in school leadership. Born in Long Beach and raised in Northridge, she began her educational journey in 2001 as an after-school program director in the Del Mar Union School District. She holds a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Education from San Diego State University and an M.A. in Education from Alliant International University. Meg has credentials in both Single Subject English and Multiple Subjects.
Meg began teaching at Community Charter Middle School, where her students achieved the highest academic growth in the state—an early affirmation of her commitment to student-centered learning. In 2012, she found her professional home at Echo Horizon School, drawn by the opportunity to work with deaf and hard-of-hearing students and be part of a community that values inclusion, creativity, and connection.
Throughout her time at Echo, Meg has served in various leadership roles, including Reading Specialist, Director of Teaching and Learning, and Director of Global Arts. After seven years on the Leadership Team, she returned to the classroom, where her heart has always been, to build deeper relationships with students and families and create vibrant, experiential learning environments. She is passionate about differentiated instruction and is constantly pursuing professional growth through summer training and educational opportunities.
