Global Arts

The Music Program at Echo Horizon School inspires creativity, expression, and joy through active, hands-on learning. Students explore musical elements, history, composition, and orchestral music while developing strong vocal skills such as pitch accuracy and breath control. Using an Orff-based approach, musicians engage in percussion through imitation, improvisation, and composition, building confidence and collaboration. Interdisciplinary connections to Spanish, STEAM, and Technology deepen global awareness and broaden musical perspectives. Through regular performance opportunities and shared experiences, music becomes a powerful way to build community and celebrate every learner’s voice.

At Echo Horizon School, Performing Arts is more than learning dance steps—it is a powerful way for students to understand themselves, connect with others, and explore the world. Spanning Pre-K through sixth grade, our program introduces students to movement as a form of human expression across cultures, genres, and history.

Through a joyful, play-based, and process-driven approach, students explore creativity, collaboration, and cultural awareness while developing foundational movement skills and dance technique. Classes balance teacher-guided instruction with student-centered exploration, honoring diverse learning styles and individual strengths. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and use expressive artistic vocabulary to analyze, create, and reflect.

Grounded in Creative Dance and Brain-Compatible Dance Education practices, our Performing Arts program fosters curiosity, confidence, and empathy—empowering students to communicate, collaborate, and thrive in an interconnected world.

Unlock a world of discovery with our Spanish Language and Cultures program, where young learners explore language through play, creativity, and cultural exploration. Designed for 1st-6th graders, our approach fosters global citizenship, community, and joy. Aligned with ACTFL standards, we use diverse methods like Total Physical Response (TPR) and the intercultural approach to make learning interactive and immersive.

Through games, music, dance, and role-play, students improve their vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills in a fun environment. They also explore cultural traditions and learn about influential Hispanic figures like Frida Kahlo and César Chávez, connecting language to art and social justice. This holistic program nurtures cultural competency and helps students appreciate diverse perspectives while developing communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Ultimately, our program aims to instill a deep love for language learning and equips students with the skills for meaningful interactions in a global society.

Unlocking creativity begins in our Pre-K–6 Visual Art program, where every child is an artist and the art room is their studio. Each class introduces diverse techniques, materials, and ideas inspired by artists from around the world, sparking curiosity and imagination. Students are then encouraged to explore independently and develop self-directed projects, emphasizing personal expression over teacher-directed outcomes.

This choice-based approach is rooted in the Teaching for Artistic Behavior philosophy and the Studio Habits of Mind, supporting differentiation and honoring each artist’s unique interests, strengths, and learning style. With flexible project options and a wide range of resources, our art studios foster creative confidence, critical thinking, and risk-taking in an inclusive environment. By connecting visual art to core academic subjects, students deepen their understanding across disciplines while developing a strong, authentic artistic voice.
