The Echo Horizon Difference
What Makes Us
Unique
Located in the heart of the Culver City Arts District, Echo Horizon School is a Pre-K–6 independent elementary school where strong academics are paired with equally strong social-emotional learning. True inclusion and diversity are celebrated through our Echo Center and our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) program, while social-emotional learning and wise, ethical action are nurtured through our Flourish program.
All of this lives within an intimate, vibrant, and down-to-earth community. Echo Horizon School is thoughtfully designed so that every child and family who joins our community feels seen, heard, and celebrated.

The Pre-K–6 Advantage
A Pre-K–6 education gives children what they need most during their formative years: time, care, and space to grow. At Echo Horizon School, students learn in a safe, inclusive, and down-to-earth community that values joyful, engaged learning—without unhealthy academic or social pressure.
Our thoughtfully designed Early Education, Lower Elementary, and Upper Elementary programs allow children to truly be children while building strong academic, social, and emotional foundations for long-term success.
As elementary school experts in an intimate community, every child is known, supported, and encouraged to explore, question, imagine, and grow into their fullest self.
Upper elementary students are the leaders on campus. They mentor younger peers, build confidence, and practice responsibility in age-appropriate ways. With strong preparation for secondary school, our graduates leave prepared to skillfully navigate academic and real-world challenges with confidence—ready to succeed in a wide range of middle and high school environments.

Echo Center’s Pioneering Co-Enrollment Model
At Echo Horizon School, diversity and inclusion are not just values we talk about—they are woven into our daily experiences, relationships, and learning. Fifteen percent of our students are deaf or hard-of-hearing (DHH) and learn alongside their hearing peers through our nationally recognized Echo Center program. DHH students use hearing technology such as hearing aids and cochlear implants and receive individualized language and listening support while fully participating in all aspects of the classroom experience.
This co-enrollment model benefits all students. Children grow up learning side-by-side with peers who experience the world differently, developing empathy, awareness, and a genuine understanding of inclusion—not as a concept, but as a lived experience.
Our Best of Both Worlds Educational Approach
Our "best of both worlds" educational approach blends strong academic foundations with research-backed innovation, ensuring children build essential skills while also developing creativity, confidence, and critical thinking. We pair rigorous learning with social-emotional growth, purposeful teaching, and deep relationships—so students feel supported, challenged, and inspired every day.
A Culture of Belonging
Our community reflects the rich diversity of Los Angeles. 43% percent of our students identify as people of color and come from 40 different zip codes across Los Angeles County. This commitment to diversity and inclusion helps students grow into empathetic, resilient, and culturally aware individuals—prepared to engage thoughtfully with the world around them.
Through our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) program, we actively promote racial equity and social justice, and create a community where every student is seen, celebrated, and supported. Our beautiful diversity is a source of strength, excellence, joy, and creativity. This commitment makes Echo Horizon a truly inclusive and vibrant place to learn and grow.
Social and emotional learning is central to everything we do. Through our Flourish Program: Mindful, Social, and Emotional Learning, Leading to Wise Effort, Ethical Action, and Community Well-Being, students develop key traits—like curiosity, empathy, kindness, optimism, and gratitude—that guide their growth, relationships, and actions. These traits are taught explicitly, integrated across all subjects, and modeled by our teachers and staff. This is essential to fostering a thoughtful, ethical, and caring community.
At Echo Horizon, parents, guardians, students, faculty, and staff are all cherished members of a vibrant community. Our Parent Association plays a central role, organizing events, workshops, and volunteer opportunities that connect families, celebrate individual strengths, and strengthen the bonds across our school.
Exceptional Educational Leadership
Our Head of School, Peggy Procter, leads with vision and expertise, guiding Echo Horizon with a Best of Both Worlds educational philosophy that blends strong academics with research-backed innovation. Our dedicated leadership team and educators focus on the whole child, tailoring their instruction to each student while continually growing as professionals. With a commitment to best practices, ongoing professional development, and collaborative leadership, our faculty create a learning environment where every child is supported, challenged, and inspired.
