Parent Involvement
Parent Involvement
We all experience our peaks and valleys... and whenever a family is dealing with a valley, there's this incredible huddling. Everyone here embraces and offers to help. You're not alone at Echo Horizon School.
-Earl Hunter, Parent and 3rd Grade Teacher

Small and sweet

Our community is warm and connected because our families make it that way. We start early on, facilitating the hosting of house parties in the early grades where families new to the community meet and friendships are born.

We consider ourselves lucky that the passionate parents at Echo Horizon School are so tireless in giving of their time and talent. Our parents make it possible for us to create and carry out impressive student performances, art shows and grade-related activities that showcase our talented and confident student body.

The vehicle for parent involvement at Echo Horizon School is our Parent Association. It exemplifies all that is good about our community, and every parent is automatically a member. In concert with the administration and faculty, the PA engages parents in the life of the school in ways that correspond to their abilities and interests. In addition to the annual Spring Affaire, PA efforts include Grandparents & Special Friends Day, the Halloween Carnival, Thanksgiving Project and Alumni Day. Community outreach is always a goal. With over 20 standing committees, there are endless volunteer possibilities!

With a focus on families, the Parent Association holds Coffee and Conversations several times a year, often featuring speakers of note. It also sponsors a Caring Community Committee that reaches out to families going through difficult times.

L.A. is a big and very scattered city. Echo Horizon School is a small and sweet oasis within our urban sprawl where families come together and their children learn, play and blossom.
