Echo Horizon School is a special place with a unique mission - to educate hearing and hearing-impaired children side by side in an inclusive environment in which self-reliance and mutual respect are valued and encouraged. The curriculum is designed to be challenging and developmentally appropriate for each learner. EHS is recognized within the Los Angeles community for its academic excellence, child friendly environment and award winning arts and technology programs. EHS graduates are noted for their competence, inquisitiveness and self-confidence.

Our comprehensive program and well governed, financially healthy institution would not be possible without the generosity of our active and committed community of current and alumni families. Their participation is a large part of the School’s success.

We all make choices about the causes we support and the donations we make. When you
join the Echo Horizon School community we ask that you put the school at the top of your giving list.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
ANNUAL GIVING: Tuition alone does not cover the school’s annual operating expenses. Annual Giving is a tax-deductible opportunity to support the school and make it possible for us to bridge the gap between tuition income and expenses. Each fall, the Annual Giving committee asks our entire community, parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty and staff, to join together to meet our goals. We have a “dollar” goal and a 100% participation goal.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - BUILDING ON SUCCESS: BUILDING ON SUCCESS: Capital giving supports the long-range strategic, physical and financial goals of the school. EHS has recently completed a campus expansion and renovation, creating additional space for many aspects of our program. It was funded by a targeted Capital Campaign and a construction loan. The current focus of Building on Success is retirement of the construction loan. We expect every family to contribute. Because capital gifts are larger, pledges may be paid over several years and are fully tax deductible.

SPRING EVENT - AUCTION/DINNER: The EHS Parent Association coordinates our major fundraising event of the year. It is a dinner plus a silent, live and on-line auction and an ad journal. Proceeds from this event are used towards the operating expenses of the school and subsidize our scholarship and financial aid program.

READATHON: This is a special school event in which the children take the lead. They set reading goals and are sponsored in their efforts by parents, friends, and relatives. This event is enthusiastically supported in the classrooms by the teachers and has become a great reading adventure for the children. They feel a great sense of accomplishment in helping to raise funds that are used in our library program. Every family at Echo Horizon is expected to participate and to support and encourage their children in this effort.
