

In May of 1999 Echo Horizon School entered the 33rd Annual California Student Media & Multimedia Festival. Thousands of entries were submitted from hundreds of schools all over California. Echo Horizon won awards in several different categories.
The Echo Horizon Video Team entered their 1997-1998 Video Yearbookand won the Best Elementary Video Yearbook award for the third year in a row.
The Best Language Arts Video was received for the MemoirsProject. In this project, with guidance from Mrs. Vogel and Ms. Wrenn, members of the Class of '98 created one-minute videos to share a significant life event or personal discovery. Reflections,a collection of videos made by sixth graders for the 1998 Spring 6th grade show, won awards for Best Fine Arts Video and Best Use of Original Music. This video project was done under the direction of Ms. Wrenn and Ms. Wolff.
In the Multimedia Category, Echo Horizon received an award for Use of Contemporary Culture for the HyperStudio Bookshare Project. In this project designed by Mr. Tremblay, fifth graders created interactive games in order to share popular novels with their classmates.
Ms. Wrenn, the video club advisor, three members of the 98-99 Echo Horizon Video Team, and one representative from the Echo Horizon Class of '98 attended the festival and awards ceremony in June of 1999. They had the opportunity to view other award winning videos and to make acceptance speeches for their awards. The school received a plaque for each award. It was quite an honor to receive these awards. We are very proud of our students.
