Kindergarten
I remember being quiet and shy in Kindergarten.  Because of the close-knit and supportive nature of Echo Horizon's teachers and students, I developed skills and confidence that have been and will continue to be valuable to me throughout my life.

Watching minds come alive

We're lucky to have a front row seat on the beginning of an amazing adventure as we watch children dive into our content-rich Pre-K and Kindergarten programs.

Our approach is developmental and hands-on, and our academics are strong, with the students learning critical thinking skills in phonics, math literacy, science, and social studies. The stimulation continues with weekly visits to our visual art, creative movement and music specialists. In our expansive library, young learners are exposed to the best in children's literature, and in the technology center, they become tech savvy with age-appropriate projects.

Outdoor activities include PE, free play and visits to the Echo Horizon School garden. In the garden, we embark on curriculum-related projects such as planting corn, measuring plant growth, studying why some stalks produce more ears than others, and counting the kernels on the ears and the seeds in the kernels.

By the time they move on to 1st grade, our Kindergarten students are functioning effectively in a group setting, are self-directed in their learning, and have an extensive experiential base in the academic disciplines. We emphasize empathy and compassion, integration into our school community, and a strong home-school connection.
